Part of a set that illustrates how modern objects of worship have replaced meaningful and religious worship in contemporary western society.
Something that interests me greatly is advertising and mass marketing and the effect on society. Technology Idol by ~Monkey-Mafia pretty much sums up my opinion but in a much more eloquent fashion. Fantastic social commentary in a simple yet unique style. (
Nope, just a natural shift I guess. It's not so much 'blame' either, as I'm not trying to diminish the importance of technology. I guess you could turn it around, and blame the lack of technology on people being religious. (I'm an aetheist).
Haha, oh I found it It was under the couch x] But yeah, can't deny it, I have more than 1000 songs and I have to actually go through and delete stuff so I can put more recent stuff on my iPod Now that's a tragedy
yeah, people have become very attached to these types of objects. it seems western society has driven itself in the direction of mostly believing in things that are tangible, versus any level of spirituality. and even tho it's not completely replaced, it is fast becoming that way. it is a very empty, self centered, unhealthy, down spiraling, cycle... but i have hope that we will come to our senses, or at least find a healthy balance.
